Residential Curbside Recycling Terms of Service
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their recycling is:
a) out on time
b) properly sorted according to the guidelines on www.calgaryrecycling.com
c) clean
d) not to exceed the two bin weekly limit
e) accessible and visible from the street
If any of these conditions are not met, recycling will be left behind at the discretion of Calgary Community Recycling.
Recycling plans are refundable up to ten days after signing up. After this time they are non-refundable.
Anyone who signs up and pays for a plan from outside of Calgary Community Recycling's service area is subject to a $25 administration fee on refunds.
Recycling plans are transferable within our service area. Customers moving out of our service area will be dealt with on an individual basis.
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide Calgary Community Recycling with a valid e-mail address, as this is our primary means of communication with existing customers. Customers with no access to email should contact us to make special arrangements.
Customers who do not have ample space for a truck to stop for loading must make alternate arrangements.
This service is for weekly pickup of your regular weekly residential recycling. Saved up recycling may not be accepted.
Calgary Community Recycling does not pick-up recycling on statutory holidays, however, we will accept extra volume on the following scheduled pick-up. On average, each customer receives 50 pick-ups per year minus statutory holidays as well as extra volume for pick-ups missed due to holidays.
All recycling must be placed at the front curb unless other arrangements have been made with Calgary Community Recycling.
Each recycling plan is intended for the recycling generated by one household. This is not for commercial use or multi-unit dwelling. Please contact Calgary Community Recycling for commercial or multi-unit dwelling pickups.
Calgary Community Recycling reserves the right to change any aspects of this program including sorting requirements and the type of items that we accept in order to maintain the integrity of the program.
In the event that the City of Calgary's curbside recycling program takes over you commnuity, refunds will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Small refunds will not be issued.
