What do you do with my recyclables?
| Paper | .
All our paper is packaged at a local depot to be sent back to the mills for reprocessing. From there most recycled paper is turned into corrugated cardboard or tissue paper. |
Metal |
Our tin cans and other metal are shredded and the melted to be made into other metal products. |
Glass |
Glass is sent to Airdrie where it is first crushed. From there it is used in the creation of a variety of products including fiberglass insulation and reflective road safety beads. |
Plastic |
Our plastics are first baled and then sent to Hong Kong for separation and processing. |
Computers/Electronics |
All our electronics are processed locally at a provincially sanctioned facility to ensure the highest standards of safety for everyone involved. Electronics are first separated into three categories; wire and cable, circuit boards and miscellaneous. From there the various parts are shredded and the raw materials are recovered. Precious metals are recovered.
All other metal is sent to our local metal processor. Plastics recovered from electronics are sent to BC for further processing.
